Q: Can you tell me a little more about what's in the program?  Is it strictly a nutrition and exercise manual?

Q: How quickly can I expect to lose weight on the Metamorphic Weight Loss program? 

A: The Metamorphic Weight Loss program can’t technically be considered a “weight loss program”.  Why?  Because the emphasis of the program is on changing body composition from FAT to LEAN.  This is a very important concept to understand if you want to be trim and fit permanently.

 Q: What if I have diabetes or heart disease?  Can your program help me?

A: The short answer is yes, but…

Q: At 15, am I too young to begin a healthy weight loss program?

A: It's never too early or too late to start a healthy lifestyle. However, when you are only 15 or so, I recommend that you focus on “cleaning up” your diet and concentrating on the full body aerobic exercise. 

By "cleaning up" your diet, I mean replacing the “junk” (candy, sodas, fast food, etc) with lean protein and unprocessed carbohydrates.  Details of how to eat these foods are provided in the Essential Nutrition section of the manual.

Q: I’m 46 and I workout 3 times a week but I can’t seem to make any progress on getting rid of this cellulite on my hips and thighs. Will your program help with this?

A: Excellent question – and very popular.  Cellulite, as you know, is the fatty deposits just below the skin that will cause the skin to dimple.  It’s ugly and very difficult to get rid of but it CAN be done.

First, we would examine your diet, making certain your were optimizing your fat burning capabilities by eating the right foods and eating more often.  In this way, you can jumpstart your metabolism to keep the fat burning fire stoked. 

Secondly, we’d look at your exercise routine.  For many people who exercise routinely but can’t seem to make any progress the problem is actually an overtraining problem.  In other words, too intense and too frequent of a workout will lead to Zero results and make you very frustrated. 

I was working with a 40-year-old lady who was determined to be bikini worthy again.  She was running 4 days a week and working out with weights 3 days a week.  Nothing was working for her.  When I looked at her exercise program I discovered she was way overworking.  So I made a few modifications.  First I reduced her running to once a week.  Secondly, I had her exercise within her fat burning range 3 days a week.

Q: Does your program require that I join a gym and are the exercises very strenuous?

Q: Will The Metamorphic Weight Loss program still work for me if I am lactose (dairy) intolerant or gluten (wheat) intolerance?

A: In the book, Understanding Nutrition, the authors indicate that the incidence of lactose intolerance is as high as 80% in Asian and African Americans, and 50% in Hispanics. (Only 10%-20% of Caucasians and Northern Europeans are lactose intolerant).

The good news is that it’s not that big of a deal to work around.

If you’re lactose intolerant you must increase your intake of other calcium-rich foods such as green vegetables. It's also wise to take a daily multi-vitamin/mineral supplement for "nutritional insurance." At the advice of a physician, Registered Dietician or Clinical nutritionist, you may be advised to take an additional calcium supplement, particularly if you are a postmenopausal female.
